Tennessee Tech's chapter of AAUP hosted their inaugural event "Food for Friends, Friends for Food" on Friday, April 1st in Dogwood Park. The event showcased some of the amazing work being done by faculty, staff, and students across TTU's campus while simultaneously collecting donations for the TTU Food Pantry. They collected several hundred food items and raised over $200. The staff and volunteers of the TTU Food Pantry would like to deeply thank AAUP for their generosity, service and for choosing to support the campus-based pantry through this event.
As part of a community service competition with fellow football players, Team Energy chose to donate their time and energy collecting food for the campus pantry. Eleven players went door-to-door sharing information about the pantry and requesting donations. They were able to collect 21 bags of food, approximately 147 items. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank this team and their efforts to support fellow students through the TTU Food Pantry.
The TTU Food Pantry will be closed for the week of spring break, March 7th through 11th. We will resume our regular hours on Monday, March 14th.
